Bookshelf with books I illustrated – those I bothered to purchase

Here you can see the books I illustrated — not all of them… I mean, not all of them are here.
Let’s say only recently, in the last five months, I finished eight books, and none of them have been purchased or have had a chance to appear on this bookshelf.

Most of those you see are in Russian, which is pretty logical, since I authored a significant part of them, and it is my mother tongue. Also, I am a traditionally published and best-selling author in Russia. Was. Once. Before this incredibly ugly war and unspeakably stupid aggression towards Ukraine. Still, by the way, if you ask me, I don’t think it is a reason to boycott Russia culturally. Many of my precious and wonderful friends left Russia since then and because of it, but some, similarly precious and wonderful, still are there. There are many reasons why they keep being there — not supporting the regime or trying to justify it — but no matter the reasons, people deserve books and pictures. People deserve support, and we need each other. Not to mention children, who deserve good (humbly!) books, no matter the views of their parents.

A large part is in English, and that is also clearly understandable, because most of my clients speak and write in English, and I (sigh) myself am trying to approach the large English-speaking market (here I want to wave to everyone reading this post and remind you my books for ale are here!). Three of them (only three!) are in Swedish, and that’s not too many, considering that I actually live in Sweden and do my best to get my foot into the local book market. There is a book in Hebrew (let me not speak about my position — the informational war is enormous from both sides, and I am not that deep in the context to judge, but believe me, I see people suffering, and I don’t close my eyes).

There are two bilingual books, partially in Mandarin.

There is a book in Icelandic.

There is a book in Ukrainian.

I do believe in connection and love. I do believe there are no languages we should be ashamed of speaking. Here is the whole bookshelf if you need more context of our home:) books illustrated by TanjaRussitaOk, ok, I removed piles of clothes from everywhere before taking the picture. Hope you are grateful!
